Global communications firm Edelman has announced a change in leadership for its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Rakesh Thukral, currently APAC Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director for Edelman India, will step up as CEO, succeeding Warren Fernandez, who is departing to explore new opportunities aligned with his interests in public policy.
Ed Williams, Edelman’s International President, expressed gratitude for Fernandez’s contributions. “Warren has elevated Edelman’s capabilities in APAC, with a particular focus on our clients in media-intensive sectors. His experience has been invaluable, and we wish him all the best as he moves on.”
Williams highlighted Thukral’s qualifications, saying, “Rakesh has deep expertise in managing cross-border growth strategies for our clients in APAC. His understanding of the region’s intricate business and political landscape is unmatched, and we look forward to the vision he will bring.”
